Windows blinds are a necessity for all bare window coverings that get heat or cold. They provide energy efficiency and help the look of any home improvement. There are three main types of windows blinds. First is the horizontal blinds, the shade and the shutter.
Horizontal windows blinds have slats that tilt to allow light in. You can also lift and lower the blind. Faux Wood, real wood, metal (minis) and composite woods are the most popular on the market. They are affordable and come in many colors.
The second type of windows blinds is the shades. They are a solid piece of fabric that goes up and down. The most popular are the cellular or honeycomb shades, pleated shades, roman shades and roller shades. Tons of fabrics, options and styles to choose from.
Last type of windows blinds is the shutter. The plantation shutters is like a door that opens and closes in your window opening. It has slats that come in 2 ½”, 3 ½” (standard) or the giant 4 1-2”. This allows you to view without opening the doors (panels). This is the most expensive of the three windows blinds options.
