Tips to Learn How to Drive

by Christopher Keiner

Learning how to drive is not easy as reading ABC or adding 1+1; it takes a lot of effort to be a professional driver in the road. You need to learn the rules and safety precaution in the road for you to get a professional license. For those people out there who are aiming to learn how to drive, here are some tips for you.

1. First things first - learn the driving rules, traffic rules and regulations such as how to turn left, what to do when turning left; when to slow down what signals. Obey traffic rules and safety precautions, such as stopping for pedestrians, following traffic signs, following the speed limit, and buckling seatbelt whenever you are driving.

2. Get your driving permit: If you have a permit you will be allowed to practice driving or to drive, but of course with an adult observation. If you are still a minor here are the rules for you to get your permit. First, you need the permission of your parent or guardian and ask for their signature. Next, you will undergo a written test about driving rules and regulation, and of course you have to pass the test. Lastly, some agencies will oblige you take a number of hours of what they called “behind-the-wheel” drivers education to get your permit.

3. After getting your permit practice driving immediately, but don’t forget to ask supervision from your father or brother who knows to drive and has a driver’s license already. Practice your driving skills before hitting the road. Don’t feel pressured in learning. Take your time to practice, and to hone your skills. The best place to practice your driving skills is in safe and isolated place. Familiarize how your car accelerates, how your brakes work, and how to maneuver your car.

4. Before you start your car’s engine, it is a must to adjust you’re your side mirrors, make sure that you can see other cars beside or behind you clearly, and your seats and be ready to take your car on the road.

5. Be ready for the road. Check your car’s wheel, fuel, and brakes to avoid accident on the road. Make sure to fasten your seatbelt-it is a must for every driver everywhere. Adjust your seat; make sure that you can drive comfortably.

6. Throw away distractions while you are practicing your driving skills. Don’t use cellphone-texting is a NO-NO, even phone calls must be prohibited while you are driving. Don’t listen to a very loud music you might not hear the instructions of the one supervising you. If possible, do not eat also or put makeup (for girls) while driving you might meet accident if you’re not going to focus on the road.

7. When you are already on the road, don’t over speed your car, use the signals appropriately, if you will not pay attention on the road signals or other car signals (beside and behind you) you might upset other drivers, or worst meet an accident.
