Rules of Blackjack
by Oleg Korneitchouk
This game is you vs. the dealer. Beat him and get the cash! You are dealt 2 cards. The dealer is dealt one open card, and one hidden. The goal is to get as close to 21, or get 21.Card Values: * The cards 2 up to 9 are worth their values. * The cards 10, J, Q, K are all worth ten. * The A is worth 11 or 1. If you get a face card (10-K) and an A, you have blackjack, which is unbeatable. If the dealer has blackjack its a push (Draw). Blackjack gives 3:2. If you get a 9 and a 2, you have 11. You will want to hit (get another card) or double down (double your bet and only receive one card). Get a face card and you have 21 which is hard to beat, and very good for you. Have an A and a 7, you have a soft 18. You can hit, get a 2 and have 20, or get another card and add that number to 8 (since the A is worth 1 as well, so 1 7=8). The dealer must hit on a 16, and stand on 17. If you get two cards that are the same, you may split them. Another bet is placed on the split card, and you can hit on both, and win double (or lose double, or win one (and lose one).If the dealer or the player acquire cards that have a sum above 21, they are bust. If you are bust, you lose. For example, if the dealer has 12, takes another card which is a face card, he has 22 and loses. Everything above 21 is a loss for either of you. If one goes bust, the other automatically wins, no matter what hand they have.
