Importance of Fresh Air

by Dan Noyes

Fresh air, the basic requirement for our sustenance doesn’t often get the importance it deserves. While we are busy chasing big money, weaving dreams and making giant strides in our careers, most of us don’t even care what we breathe! In our AC rooms, we sit cozily believing that we have all the comforts. But, in reality, when we are in an enclosed room, we breathe stale and unhealthy air, which is a major cause of many diseases and discomforts. It is important to understand that the quality of air we breathe affects our life in more ways than you can imagine.

Fresh and clean air has a combination of both positively and negatively charged oxygen atoms. It is essential to always maintain equilibrium between the positive and negative oxygen atoms, in the air we breathe. Indoor air often becomes polarized, which implies that it contains only positively charged ions. This air is stale and toxic. So, where do you get negative ions? As negative ions are generated in nature such as waterfalls, charged winds and ocean surfs, it becomes important to let outdoor air in.

Every day, thousands all over the world suffer from indoor air poisoning. When air is not circulated well, the toxic air can lead to many illnesses and discomforts in breathing. Inside homes and offices, air-conditioning, carpets, upholstery, wallpapers and dust, all make the air stale and toxic. When you breathe this air, apart from the many other problems, you reduce your life span. It is often seen that people who spend long hours in enclosed rooms develop breathing problems. Fresh air on the other hand, has all the positive energy to keep you feeling great and wonderful, apart from giving you a healthy and long life. Fresh air rejuvenates the body and mind and let positive thoughts in. It also improves lung functioning, lowers body temperature and enhances brain activity.

As per the ancient Eastern philosophy, it is believed that plenty of fresh air is important to enhance your mental well being. Modern Science has also proved that brain functioning requires a large supply of oxygen. Whether ancient or modern Science, both reiterate the importance of fresh air on the body and mind. Work towards getting fresh air into your enclosed environment. Open those sealed windows and experience the therapeutic properties of fresh air.
