How to Have Nice Legs: From Compression Hose to Razor Burn

by Mark Etinger

As beautiful, confident women, we all want to have sexy legs. And while sexy legs can come in all shapes, lengths and sizes, there are certain procedures to follow to ensure that every man who sees (and touches) your legs is impressed with how they look and feel.

Varicose veins are one of the biggest problems many women face as they age. This problem results from poor circulation, aggrandized by walking in heels or by sitting in the same position for extended periods of time. There are different ways to prevent this issue, from massaging your legs daily, to wearing compression hose, to elevating them while seated. Varicose vein stockings can be worn anytime and look great during any part of the year.

Razor burn is another common issue with many ladies. Try an exfoliating lotion on clean skin before you begin to shave. This will open the hair follicles. Wash with warm water and soak or allow the steam from the shower to further open pores. Use a clean razor and shave with the grain to prevent bumps. If your hair is fine, it is okay to shave against the grain. Rinse and dry, and use an after shave or lotion afterwards. Aloe-based cortisone creams are especially good for red-bump prevention.

Scraping corns and heels can be tricky, but the process is important if you want rub-able feet. You can do this on your own, or pay attention to it whenever you get a pedicure. Moisturize the bottoms of your feet nightly to prevent severe calluses. General maintenance will make you feel good about your feet, and the pampering nature of a pedicure is a great way to de-stress.

In terms of muscle tone, there are a few ways to make your legs shapely. Running and biking build and tone muscle as well as improve your cardiovascular health. Weight training can accelerate the process. Lunges, squats and leg extensions are good for the thighs and butt. Calf raises are good for your lower legs. These exercises are good ways to stay healthy generally, too.

Once you begin a maintenance routine, it's just a matter of keeping it up. It takes time to feel good about your body both in shaping it the way you want, and in feeling confident with yourself and what your genes have given you, but the sooner you are able to, the happier you will be.
