What's New in Pool Safety?

Are you planning on having a full pool installed? Or have you purchased or rented a home that already has a pool there? If so then you really do need to have a good safety strategy in place to protect against accidental drowning. Don't forget also that children have even drowned in small play pools so even if you just have that you are at risk if you're not adequately protected, so now is the time to do something about it.
The good news however, is that compared to past decades, so much more is available to pool owners to make them safer. Now of course in accordance with local community codes, you will be mandated to have a fence around your swimming pool. But today more at home on a business owners are seeing a fence as but the first stage in a "multi-layered" pool safety system.
Now some of the new high-tech devices that are out there are nothing short of amazing. Technology that just a few years ago were too expensive for a lot of people is now surprisingly affordable to buy. As an example, cordless body heat and motion detection systems easily tell the difference between small children in a mammal and work in all kinds of weather. Plus the price on the sensors themselves has dropped to about $20 each.
Even then, if for some reason a child should manage to somehow bypass that system when you're not at home, the final alarm can come from a battery powered motion detecting pool float. Once activated it sits on top of the water in and will detect the wave motions created by anyone entering the water when you're not there. Now a device like this can really be a lifesaver, and once again they're also surprisingly affordable.
Then for small kids and toddlers who may have wandered out your back door, or through a side gate that was left open, there's a fold up above ground pool ladder. It's just so simple to use, and incredibly effective too. Simply fold it down when you're ready to watch the kids in the pool. Then when you're done and ready to head inside, just flip it up and access to the pool is cut off.
Even so, with all this high tech equipment making up a secure multilayered security system for your yard and pool when you're not around, you'll still need safety gear for when you are at the pool. For instance one must have piece of must have gear is a long aluminium pole with a large hook on the end for snagging kids and loose pool toys. Also make sure you have it adequate supply of pool floats for the kids to use.
