What Makes Synthetic Grass Better

by Ali Felton

Having greens from nature around you would definitely bring out a different feel. For one thing, a lot of men and women would feel relaxed having these trees and shrubs around them. On the other hand, modern day living, most especially in the urban areas, would more often than not inhibit people from having real floras around. This is simply due to the fact that space is limited and land developers would often time want to maximize the spaces for residential and commercial purposes. It is a good thing that synthetic grass is now made available in a lot of home depots and gardening stores.

What are these?

The name itself says it all. Primarily, these greens are used in large stadiums and sporting arenas wherein it is quite difficult to maintain a real lawn. However, as the years pass by, they are started to be used by a lot of home and commercial establishment owners as a substitute for the real ones. Despite the fact that they are fake, they are still carefully designed to resemble the natural grasses.

What are the advantages of man-made lawns?

They are easier to maintain. For those home and commercial owners who have natural lawns, they would more often than not spend a substantial amount of time maintaining them. Activities in preserving the beauty of the greens would include regular mowing, raking and weeding. Synthetic grass, on the other hand, may require some cleaning but it would not require that much amount of time in comparison to sustaining real prairies.

They are safe.

Artificial grasses are believed to be safer due to the fact that their edges are softer and that they can avoid abrasions and minimize knee injuries. In addition to this, freshly cut grasses are known to be one of the causes of asthmas and allergies. Synthetic prairies are advantageous for asthmatic people since there is no need to cut, trim and mow these man-made lawns.

They are cost effective.

We can never avoid the fact that preserving a lawn would require additional expenses. This would normally include pesticides and herbicides that are used in treating insect infestations, and fertilizers. In addition to this, natural grasses would require regular watering, most especially during the warm and summer seasons, so as to prevent them from withering. Likewise, trimming and mowing could also add up to the expenses since most equipment used for this are either run by electricity or gas.

They are friendly to the environment.

Pesticides and herbicides that are used in keeping grass lawns could be harmful to the environment. In addition to this, a couple of studies have shown that lawn mowers and cutters that are driven by petrol that are used for an hour can produce pollution like that of a hundred mile car trip. An Artificial lawn turf is environmentally practical since, as mentioned a while ago, cutting, trimming and mowing are no longer required.
