Make Corian your material of choice before your rivals do

by Ben Bagheri

Corian countertop material is finished from a plastic resin - trade marked by Dupont. It is generated from a combination of an acrylic copolymer, and an alumina trihydrate filler. Basically it is a synthetic material that can be pigmented to practically any shade, and be provided with a large number of textures.

Cleaning Corian counter tops is incredibly simple. The counter tops are non porous, therefore stains don't have a likelihood to sink in and leave a permanent stain. These counter tops tend to be mold, mildew and bacteria resistant.

Corian has an fantastic choice of colours and designs. This is significant because it offers designers the ability to easily match these surfaces with surrounding materials. The colour goes through the complete thickness of the facade so it will not become lighter like other products on the market. Given that the colour runs all the way through, marks and scratches can be removed effortlessly to restore DuPont™ Corian® to its innovative appearance. Corian is available in matte, gloss or semi-gloss finishes. Corian counters have been around for countless years and simulate a marble stone look.

Corian is generated in large blocks and builds up over time as solid sheets with no joints or seams. Being seamless makes them more visually stimulating and appealing.

They are extremely easy to keep clean as there are no cracks where dirt and grease can get in, there is no grout or seam lines to keep clean. They are not affected by chemical substances in common household cleaning agents.

It has what is called the lone pour design. Which in the industry means that it is a counter top with a truly unyielding facade. As a result it comes as one single piece which can present the benefit of some unusual patterns and precision edges. It can be cut, routed, drilled, sculpted, bent, or worked like a fine wood.

Corian counters are more easily repaired than most and this is because it is generated using acrylic or plastic as a solid surface, so in the regrettable event that they might get damaged all is not lost as they can be repaired depending on the kind of damage. Minor scrapes can be polished out using a special cleaning pad pretty easily. Very fine scratches can be rubbed away with a special type of cleaner.

Corian is translucent which means it has a warmness and concentration unlike other solid surface materials.

Corian is made by Du Pont so you can be sure it is of the highest quality. Corian has a 10 year "installed" guarantee which ensures you are protected and it eliminates the fear of getting a product that will not last. The 10-year "installed" warranty is transferable which is important if you intend to sell your home.
