Get a flu shot every season and make sure your family does as well. Asthma sufferers need to be careful and guard against any upper-resperatory illnesses. Common method of avoiding illnesses can be very effective. Keep your vaccinations up to date and wash your hands frequently.

Travel with your rescue medication on your person at all times. Traveling to different places might expose you to unexpected triggers, as your body is put under more strain when you travel. It is also difficult to control your environment while traveling, making it more likely that you may experience an attack or worsening symptoms.

Pay attention to your attack triggers. If you know what is likely to trigger your attacks, such as smoke, animals, or pollen, then you can make a better effort to avoid them. Asthma triggers are different for everyone. Unfortunately, the only real way to know what will trigger an attack is to have one, and then remember what happened.

There are many ways to help prevent, control and treat your asthma symptoms. This was just a sampling of the many different options out there. Asthma affects so many of us in the world that the research into new treatment options is never ending. You can live with your asthma and still live a normal happy life.
