Common Admission Test, more popular with its abbreviation CAT is conducted by the IIMs twice a year usually in the months of October and November. Nowadays, B schools affiliated under the IITs and IISC also accept CAT score to provide admission. A willing candidate to write CAT must score at least 50% marks in the under graduation course. Students from the under privileged categories like SC, OBC, ST and others can attempt CAT with a minimum score of 45 %. A student must get the degree from a UGC recognized university. The duration of the degree must be of at least three years. these are the criteria to write CAT. Apart from the graduates, a final year graduation student can also write CAT. It is indispensable to study following a planned strategy since each subject carries similar marks, there should be a proper distribution of study time among these.
