Dentistry In India

by Roy Preece

Dentistry in India is a highly skilled profession that is highly valued and many of the top dentists train in the USA and then return to India to practise.

Dentistry in the west is becoming increasingly expensive and the cost of say a dental implant in the UK is close to £2000 often, whereas it is more like £200 even for top dentists in India's private hospitals so for a return £400 flight it works out much more thriftily to go to India for dental work and the quality, if you get the right dentist is much higher than in the UK.

I personally have had veneers on my teeth since childhood when my teeth were broken during a fall on a mountain. Every 3-4 years I had the veneers replaced as they chipped or fell off with wear in spite of my good oral hygiene. While I was studying in India, this happened again and I went to a dentist in Bandra, Mumbai who gave me a wonderful repair job, better than I had ever had before, he saw me immediately, matched the colour of the veneer to my teeth better than before so the join was less noticeable and glued it in so smoothly I can't feel where it attaches to my enamel. Previously the join always irritated my mouth and was rough and irregular. Since that day I have sent lots of friends and clients to my dentist and everyone has come back with a ringing report of great service.

Medical Tourism is a booming industry, particularly in these difficult economic times and the private medical care in India is considered to be among the best in the world. More than that, India is an incredible holiday destination so if you feel embarrassed about getting your teeth operated on, no one need ever know as you have the perfect excuse of a great holiday to India...and your excuse will also be True!

If you are considering going to India to get your teeth fixed in any way, Bangalore has the best reputation for good dentists and Mumbai is another city that is easy to travel to, stay in and has great dentists. Mumbai and Bangalore are allso top tourist destinations, many people have their teeth fixed and then spend a few days unwinding in Goa or Karnataka and then head back to the hospital a week later for a check up prior to flying home with their new improved smile.
