Counseling - Why is Sex So Important to Men?
All men want is sex, right? Well, it is very important to men, but very few women understand why. This lack of understanding creates conflict in marriage relationships. This is highly preventable though. With a clear comprehension of why sex is so important to men, relationship tension can be decreased. To be fair, sex is also important to women. With men sex is more like a vehicle, whereas with women sex is akin to a destination. A little understanding regarding the opposite sex's viewpoint can go a long way to building more harmony in the marriage.
Ladies, think of a time where you were apart from your man for a long period of time. Maybe one of you went on a business trip or something. When you got back together the most pressing thing on his mind was sex. If you're like many women, your first desire was to hear about his trip or share some details about yours. The idea of having sex comes after the mood has been set through the process of talking and sharing.
Here's where men and women are almost completely opposite from one and other.
Men are 90% physical and 10% emotional. Women are 90% emotional and 10% physical.
The different choices women and men make when they socialize with friends of the same sex, provides a clear example their gender differences. The sharing of life experiences and how they feel about them, is what women spend time discussing. Of vital importance to their conversation, are the details of what people were involved and their subsequent feelings. On the other hand, guys will go see an action flick, shoot some pool, or get together to what a football game. They do action oriented activities with their buddies.
Through physical activity, men most commonly express themselves. They do much less sharing of personal information than a woman would.
In social situations men are most commonly asked what they are doing for work. Yet, whether in the workplace or at home, women are most often asked how they're doing. The question is focused on the feelings of the woman being asked. Men are asked about what actions they're engaged in. What are you doing? Very infrequently are men asked how they're doing. What we do tends to define us more than how we're doing.
Men are biologically geared and socially reinforced towards action. A wide range of emotional expressions is not common to most men.
A key reason sex is so important to men, is it allows us to access our emotions more easily. Please take a moment to read that last statement again, it's really important. A man is able to let his gaurd down and become more vulnerable through sex with his wife. He can experience greater vulnerability and intimacy with his wife as a result. Countless women long for a deeper connection with their husband. A more intimate relationship with their man is what they want.
Many women are mistaken in their assessment of men. They wrongly measure them by their unique female basis for sex. Most women want to feel some emotional bond, warmth, tenderness with their husband before they have sex. In order to create an intimate emotional bond, men commonly want to have sex.
