There are two types of water filters the reverse osmosis water filter and the counter top water filter. These are the methods on how to install them. Reverse osmosis water filter. Is where brine water is pressured to become fresh water. This is commonly used in households, restaurants and offices. Here are the steps for installation. First, mount water supply feed. There is a plastic supply tube that will connect to the inlet valve, tighten it with its nut. Attach the sink faucet by feeding the water supply line and the two waste lines up through the hole in the sink and through gasket and faucet base. Connect the drain line adapter, install it just below the sink and above the discharge from the disposer or dishwasher. Lastly mount the storage tank and sanitize it, fill the drain it to rinse it clean. You should also charge the reverse osmosis holding tank. Unscrew its protective cap and check the tank pressure. Inflate or deflate the tank with a tire pump. Be sure to achieve the manufacturer’s recommended pressure (usually 5 to 7 psi). The counter top water filter is widely use on suburban. First, turn off the shutoff valve for the cold water supply. Open the sinks cold-water faucet to release the pressure. Look for the drain cap, it is usually found in the side of the shutoff valve drain out all the water. Use a close-quarters tubing cutter remove the tubing and discard it. Apply flux onto the newly cut tubing ends attached the copper tee tubing. Solder it in place. Assemble everything before installing it under the sink. Tip for soldering. Open the ball valve so the steam could escape. Drill hole for the mount of the water filter. To keep drill from moving cover the location with a strip of masking tape or make a center punch. Now you can install the filter faucet. be sure that it is flat when you put it in the hole from under the sink lock the filter in place by hex nut tighten it carefully. Attach the plastic tubing to the filter. Attach the 9V battery which powers the electronic filter monitor. Cut the plastic tubing make sure it is just right length from the reducer fitting to the filters mounting location. Cut another tube connect it from the outlet fitting to the faucet stem. Mount the filter into the cabinet. Drill screw int the wall be sure that it is align with the keyhole slot. Push the filter against the wall and pull it down to lock it in place with the keyhole slot onto the screws head. Lastly, connect the filter’s water-supply tubing. Attach the compression fitting onto the end of the plastic tubing. Thread the compression fitting on the reducer. Tighten it with wrench and pliers. Again, with another compression fitting attach the outlet of the filter and the faucet stem. Open all the valve to check for leaks. Open the filter for 10 minutes to remove all the carbon particles from the cartridges.
