Top 5 On-Page Search Engine Optimization Techniques to Rank for Search Words

by Abite Smith

If you want to rank for Search Words on Google, then you need on page search engine optimization techniques that are going to be effective. You should know by now that Google and other search engines use an algorithm in order to determine which websites rank at the top of the results. This algorithm is done by robots, it's not something that is human edited. This is why Google is so effective, they do not have to review the websites in their listings with a human being, they simply have to perfect their algorithm so that the right websites are displayed at the top. This algorithm revolves around search engine optimization. The better you optimize your website for Google's algorithm and specific Searchwords, the higher your website will rank at the top of the results. Of course, it takes more than just on page search engine optimization to get good rankings on Google. It also requires off page optimization, such as promoting your website on other websites on the Internet. However, the 5 optimization techniques you will find below are purely for on page factors, which means everything that has to do with your own site.

Optimize the titles of your pages with your targeted keywords

Every page on your website, whether it be a blog post or an actual page needs to be optimized for specific keywords. You can use inner pages of your website like these to target longtail phrases, which are search words that are easier to rank for. The longer the phrase is, generally the easier it is to rank for. Inner pages are good pages for targeting these types of keywords, since you don't have to try as hard to get the top. You should optimize the titles of every page on your website with your targeted keyword phrases.

Base the URL of the page off of the title

As long as you have optimized the title correctly in the previous step, then you can paste the URL of the page off of the title. This would mean that your URL structure would automatically get optimized as well. The URL is essentially the keywords that follow the trailing slash at the end of your domain. For instance, Google.com/url-structure-here is a good example. If you incorporate your keywords there, you will be benefiting your websites SEO.

Include your keywords in the description of every page

Every page of your website has a meta-description that is used as the official description for the page. Google and other search engines use this description when listing your website in their results. Make sure that your keywords are within the description, so that the page is properly optimized.

Use your main keyword in the H1 header tag

Inside the content of your page, make sure you use your main keyword in the H1 header tag. This is the most important header of the page, therefore your main keyword should exist here.

Incorporate your keywords into the content

Don't forget to just include the keywords inside the content of every page as well. You should have a 2 to 5% keyword density.
