It's like Christmas day when a blogger sees his blog get featured in a prominent website, like a news hub or another more popular blog. It's pleasant to know that famous bloggers have read your blogs and spent their precious time connecting to your site.Blog readers can never have too much to read, so you can expect a steady stream of targeted traffic when your blog's link gets published in high-traffic websites.
Of course getting featured doesn't happen purely by chance. Most bloggers work hard to get their links out there, so you should do, too. Here are some tips on how to get featured in other websites faster:
1. Provide informative feedback - Another means of placing a link back to your blog without any difficulty is by participating in the comment section of the site owner then post a link back to your site. It may be considered cheating since there is no proper approval from the blog owner, but it's a legal trick to circulate backlinks (links directing to your site). The negative aspect of this is that it may be regarded as spam comments, so provide informative feedback to get the approval of the blog administrator. As soon as you get their interest, the blogger might give you a part on his blog since you both talk the same interests and subject matter.
2. Recommend your articles - Content-based websites are commonly chasing for more - what do you think? - content. Therefore, you should exert extra effort by communicating with the web administrator and present your articles to them.Several websites accept blogs even if it were formerly published. But it would be beneficial to prepare recently made articles in case they ask for it. You don't expect them to wait for you to create a new one. You can choose to set your backlinks on the author's bio page or on the article's content.
3. Transact with fellow bloggers -It's a common practice for bloggers to feature each other on their blogs. This can be done by doing a full article such as an interview or recommending the other blog ('Visit my friend's blog if you want to learn more about…'). Also, you always have to be ready to rescue fellow bloggers who needs topic to cover. Most of the time, they place their 'wanted' ads in online forums or user groups. An added benefit among bloggers is when they swap blog entries (also called guest posting). A brief prologue regarding the author is mentioned on the article so that the viewers would be aware that another blogger is writing for the blog.
4. Join a blog carnival - A blog carnival have links to many articles covering a specific topic. The blog entries revolve around a single topic and the main 'compiler' publishes an article that includes snippets from these entries. Naturally, the clips directs to the one who contributes the blog entry, which gives recognition to the blogger who made the article. What good about this is that the 'compilers' vary every time a new blog carnival is out, therefore it only means that you will be given a chance to have an extensive viewers whenever you decide to join.
5. Submit your profile - Other websites acknowledges the work of bloggers by giving out awards like 'Best blogger of the Month' or 'Famous Blog of the Year'. You have nothing to be afraid of when you forward your profile there. You wouldn't know unless you try and this might give you the chance that you have been waiting for.Your blog will eventually become famous. It is good business in terms of traffic when you think about how many of the awarding body's readers would see your blog.
6. Make a tradition - If you are a newbie blogger, it would be nice to create a practice of introducing fellow bloggers on your site. You would be excited to see the famous bloggers that you have wanted to meet. Consequently, these featured bloggers would recommend their readers to visit your blog (to read about their story). Somewhere along the way, they might return the favor and feature you as well. It might take a long while, but it is still one way of gaining followers.
Putting up a link in blog rolls doesn't compare to the endorsement you get when your blog is featured on the main content of another website. So when you decide to market your blog, first option should be guest posting in other websites.
