Despite the fact that he's not famous known like his business partner, Jay-Z, Stoute is still in the position to establish himself as an smart business mogul. He's helped various multinational brands and this has grown his profile in the business world.
He started as an executive with various well-known record labels, from 1990 up to 1999. Most of the labels he has handled include Sony Music, where he was the president of Urban Music division. It seemed to be while here he successfully played a huge role in the lives of Will Smith and Mariah Carey. His next stop was at Interscope Geffen A&M Records, where he served as the President of the Urban Music division. The understanding he gained while working as a music executive at the two companies, permitted him to successfully shift to the advertising and marketing industry. The move from a music executive saw him create his own advertising company in 2004, labeled as Translation. This business focuses on advertising, marketing and branding. Since its beginning, Translation spent some time working with major Fortune 500 companies in producing excellent ad campaigns.
The agency liaises with products that want to feature legendary celebrities in their marketing tactics. On one of their ad campaigns, they presented Beyonce, who had been teaming up with True Star fragrance from Tommy Hilfiger. Some of his other pairings include Justin Timberlake with McDonalds, Jay-Z with Reebok and State Farm teaming up with LeBron James. The extensive benefits derived by companies are massive as they are able to draw in the coveted 12 to 25 age groups.
In 2008, he co-partnered with Shawn Carter, also referred to as Jay-Z, to launch Translation Advertising that targeted innovating the manner in which advertising interacts with the public. His model continues to be successful and has seen the company work together with well-known businesses. His victory as an advertising entrepreneur has seen him obtain numerous awards and recognition. In 2009, he was inducted into the Advertising Hall of Achievement, by the American Advertising Association. A year later, the ADCOLOR Industry Coalition named him the Innovator of the Year.
His achievement as the creator of Translation hasn't made him slacken a bit. Just like other executives, Stoute has tried his hands on quite a few businesses. The fact is that, in 2005 he was named as the chief executive of Carol's Daughter, a business that deals with many different body and hair products. Based on his relationships, he was able to bring on board notable personalities such as Will and Pinket Smith, Mary J Blige and Jay-Z as investors. His stint at the company has seen it grow and enhance its clients and now manage the likes of Disney.
Stoute has additionally written a guide that is focused on the role of hip hop and the new marketplace. In his book, he states that the being familiar with of urban street hip hop, gave him a fresh and different thinking. It is this different approach that has permitted him to stay top of today's pop culture.
