Of all of the Hotels near York the Worsley Arms Country House Hotel is one of the prettiest late Georgian style hotels built in 1841. It is a perfect and relaxing venue for a romantic and personal wedding in the North York Moors. Or you could just use it as a base for walking the scenic North Yorkshire Moors. Walking is a popular activity and from the hotel you can be enjoying the magnificent North Yorkshire countryside without having to drive anywhere. The hotel itself is situated in Hovingham, which is a tiny village with no other hotels, there is a small shop and tearoom located on the pretty village green.

The hotel was originally built to provide hotel accommodation to visitors to the local spa which is sadly no longer in operation, the hotel now aims to ensure guests can sample a traditional North Yorkshire hotel but with all the modern facilities expected. The hotel itself has 19 bedrooms in total, of which 11 are in the main country house hotel building, with the remaining eight bedrooms being located across Hovingham village green in tastefully renovated cottages. Our North Yorkshire hotel rooms are split into standard rooms, superior rooms and four-poster rooms. Another beauty of this hotel is the fact that the customer is offered two different dining experiences to suit your mood; the elegant dining room offers an array of menu options along with a carefully chosen wine list. The Cricketers Bar, the dining bar area, offers a more informal North Yorkshire dining experience. The hotel also has various lounge areas for guest to relax in, take afternoon tea and read the paper.

There are very few North Yorkshire Hotels that are set in the North York Moors countryside. It is easily accessible due to being conveniently located near York in North Yorkshire which if course has excellent transport links. There is a real range of sceneries as you have the convenience of the historic city of York, the tranquil North Yorkshire Moors with an abundance of wildlife and of course the Yorkshire coastline is also very close by for yet another change of scenery. Hovingham village is very close and ideally located for visiting the North Yorkshire market towns of Helmsley and Pickering. It is also close enough to the Yorkshire Dales National Park which is beautiful and can offer other traditional Yorkshire towns like Whitby, Stokesley, Malton, Thirsk and of course the historic city of York as previously mentioned.
