Get It Togehter!

by Shawn Parker

Make your wardrobe always look its best by simply having what's need for quick fixes handy. With new clothes, take the extra buttons provided, tag the button as to which garment they belong to, get a small inexpensive photo album place the extra buttons in between the plastic pages. When you need a button you've lost you'll know to go to the "Button Album" to get it. No more looking in fabric stores to try and match a button that's been lost.

The basic essentials needed for a mending kit should consist of: white, dark or navy blue, black and beige threads, few different sizes of needles, scissors, straight and safety pins, s seam ripper, measuring tape or a ruler, garment chalk. These will get you started; you can add other items as time goes on.

Shoe care begins with a good shoetree or shoe-rack so you can store your shoes on. Storing your shoes on a shoetree or shoe-rack makes it easier for you to see what you have, but also help to know what pair of shoes need shine, washed or buffed. Keep clothes drying sheets near by to dust off seldom-worn shoes. A nice shoe brush is needed to buff stains off your suede shoes, it will also help to refresh the nap too.

Prepare yourself when your away from home by having in you office draw or hand bag, Tide to Go, (when using make sure you work the stain inwardly, this will help to prevent the stain from spreading), garment tape for hems or broken zippers, static guard to get rid of static cling in your clothes, lint roller or brush remover and clear nail polish to stop runs in pantyhose.

These few ideas are just the beginning to start to get you organized.

The Direct of or Yale's Alzheimer's Disease Research Unit, Chris Van Dyck, called the paper "exiting research."
