Conversational hypnosis | Covert hypnosis
Did you ever question the validity of conversational hypnosis?
Before getting into the world of hypnosis, we'll first clear up some definitions.
Lets talk about what "hypnosis" IS.
"To bypass the critial factor and establishment of acceptable selective thinking" is the technie definition of the word.
What?! Lemme explain...
The "critical factor" part of the brain is the section of the concious mind that "protects" the subconcious from allowing suggestions to come in that are totally outregeous. Let me explain: If I said pigs have wings, your 'critical factor' section would take it and reject it because it doesn't match up with your past memories/information you've stored previously. Conversational hypnosis is an excellent tool in order to dissolve this barrier the subconcious has set up in order to protect itself.
When under hypnosis, the "critical factor" part of the mind is bypassed. The suggestions the hypnotist gives you will go, uninterrupted, into your open & unprotected subconcious mind. Since the "critical factor" is not examining the suggestion, it is believed and taken to be true by the subconcious mind. The commands you were told while under hypnosis will now become a reality. You will beleive the tellings are true.
But bypassing this "critical factor" we speak of is not every piece of the puzzle. Very constructive conversational hypnosis also requires the hypnotist to direct the subject into a highly focused state of attention. The "...establishment of acceptable selective thinking" part of our definition today is going to take hold now. Why 'acceptable'? It's easy: you can not violate the core values/beliefs of an individual with conversational hypnosis. For instance, if the hypnotist suggests you go and drown your pet cat, you will not do it if it's against what your core values and beleifs in life are. Conversational hypnosis is extremely effective - just do not use it for unrealistic situations.
So tell me about the "conversational" part of conversational hypnosis...
If someone is becoming hypnotized by conversational hyposis, their 'critical factor' is bypassed just as in normal hypnosis, only their eyes are wide awake and fully concious. So with conversational hypnosis the hypnotic suggestions are being applied without the subject's actual knowledge or realization of it actually happening! So applying conversational hypnosis is making change in somebody just as in normal hypnosis - the difference is it's being done in a covert sort of way - an unconcious way!
The way this is set forth is by using a variety of non-verbal techniques along with some linguistic ones as well. For effective conversational hypnosis, there must also be some steps to be followed. They are outlined below. Please keep in mind that you do not have to follow each step to the tee and some of the steps can be established sometimes instantaneously!
The steps in order to apply effective conversational hypnosis are outlined here:
1.) Grab his/her attention and hold it. For you (the hypnotist) to guide your subject into an open frame of mind, you'll need their attention so they'll be open to listening to your 'suggestions' when you perform the conversational hypnosis on them.
2.) You must have rapport with him/her! Rapport can be defined as relation; connection, esp. harmonious or sympathetic relation: a teacher trying to establish close rapport with students. Basically, it's a great feeling of closeness or connection with someone you're talking to and like. Getting a good level of rapport with him/her before applying the conversational hypnosis suggestions will help ensure you good results since they'll be more open to listening to you at that point (because they now truely LIKE you).
3.) This is where the induction of the trance begins. Here is where you, the hypnotist, will use SPECIAL WORDS to put your subject into a hypnotic-like trance with their eyes open being fully concious. One thing to consider here is that human beings go into these hypnotic states of mind naturally...all the time! A quick example of this would be when an expert is talking to you about something you do not know anything about. Nothing he tells you would be critically questioned on something that's a new subject to us. Things are not questioned critically by humans. This is just naturally a fact. What happens most of the time is they take the new information and store it as the truth! For example, the news on television is a place where humans take information at face value. Most of the time the information taken in from that source is not watched all too critically. Generally speaking they will take the information as true without really critically questioning it much. Can you see how this is making sense to you up until this point?
4.) Send your suggestions out to your subject. Now is when you begin 'programming' his/her subconcious mind with the instructions/suggestions to stay in the subconcious of their mind and be taken as the truth. There are SEVERAL ways of using conversational hypnosis in such ways that your subject does not realize these suggestions/commands are happening. This is where the true power of conversational hypnosis comes into play. Visit the website towards the bottom of this article for more information into this.
So there you have it - the steps to set forth effective conversational hypnosis!
P.S. Are you thinking about how long the process takes? Well, that can greatly vary from person to person - client to client - hypnotist to hypnotist. There are many circumstances and factors to take into consideration. There are cases where, with just the right blend of tonality and body lanuage, a hypnotic trance can be stirred up into someone within a matter of SECONDS! There's alot to the world of hypnosis, but as soon as you REALLY grasp a few key concepts to hypnosis overall, you'll realize the simplicity of it and begin applying it in your life for good!
