Always Follow Your Passion And Succeed
My childhood was spent in a suburb with my parents. Both my parents were working and were not at home for most of the day. As my aunt used to stay very close to our place, my parents had asked me to go over to her place after school and wait till my parents came back from work. My aunt had two kids - a girl and a boy. My cousin sister was in college and my brother Sunil (younger than me) was in school.
While I was doing OK in school, Sunil was not so good at studies and would get considerably lower marks than me. This invariably caused my aunt to compare my marks with his performance and would rebuke him regularly. She wanted him to look up to me as a role model and emulate me in scoring good marks. Although initially I enjoyed the attention and my aunt's praise I soon realized that my brother was slowly drifting away from me. I decided to help him to improve his studies. However, I soon realized that his interest lay in other activities. While I loved reading books as a hobby, he enjoyed working with electrical circuits and wires. At his age it was amazing to see him working with the wires instead of paying with friends.
Soon I had to move away from the city for my studies but I did manage to keep in touch with Sunil and knew that he had completed his college and earned a degree in arts. He was struggling to find a job and asked me to help him get one. Recalling his earlier passion, I asked him if he was still interested in playing with wires and systems. On getting a positive response, I asked him to take up computer networking as a career option. I had a friend who used to teach at a local hardware & networking institute and I knew that he was highly qualified to guide my brother in the right direction. Sunil met him and it turned out to be the turning point in his life. He had a tough time selecting one amongst the many networking courses offered by the premier training institute.
I had moved to Dubai for a year as part of a project that I was managing and during this period I was busy and was unable to keep in touch with my friends & relatives. On my return, I was surprised to see Sunil waiting for me at the airport. He gave me a huge hug and thanked me a lot. He had completed the CCNP training (Cisco Certified Network Professional) and had immediately received a great offer through the placement facility at the institute.
