Finding Peace In Difficult Times

by Kim Fritz

For some people, daily life can be a struggle. The stress of trying to provide for your family, paying your bills, and dealing with this economy, can at times be too much. It can seem as if it will never go away. Financial troubles is a plague that is moving across this world with rapid speed. This is not an uncommon problem and studies have shown that there seems to be a popular anecdote for those that are experiencing financial hardships, and that is to attend Church services.

Around 43 percent of Church-goers are individuals who have in some way been hit by this burdened economy. Whether they are Christian, Catholic, Baptist or any one of the thousands of beliefs out there, individuals as a whole have taken up going to Church as a comfort and a wayto help them with theemotional toll that burdens them. They find that the encouragement helps them to better cope with these things. Church allows them to see a different perspective and helps individuals learn to appreciate what they have. Too many people in this world are so focused on money and when something drastic happens, they aren't sure how to function. By attending Church they find refuge, comfort from others, even at times financial assistance. Most Churches nowadays provide shelter, food, or transportation assistance.

The resources they use to help those in need are called "benevolent funds". This can be a huge blessing for someone who may have recently suffered from a job loss, or had a decrease in income. Churches provide these things to bring people together and to show that there is help when they need it. Those that normally would not go to church find themselves unable to wait until that next service. Whether they desire the comfort or the message, the ability to have that support is what is most important. There are many pastors talking about how they are giving out benevolent funds more and more as well as reaching into their pocketbooks to help. One third of the pastors say that more people are asking for help due to the economy.

Although there are plenty of church members asking as well, the non-members are causing the churches to grow. The Churches seem to be the only ones willing to support and help these individuals hence the rapid growth in new members. Church is there to help you grow and to support you in any time in your life.

Bottom line, is that although you may be going through a hard time in your life right now. There is always someone to lean on. Whether its financial help or even just someone to listen to you and support you. Our world can be a tough one, but finding the right church can make your life easier. Not only will you have support for the hard times in your life, it will open up new doors for you and your family. You can build relationships with the other Church members, lifelong friends and family and a safe place for your children to grow up.
