How to Be A Bishop- Shocking Secrets

Bishops are often seen in the Church community as the people to go to, the people to be in high esteem and the people who God uses to do great things.

But you know as well as I do that to be the greatest in the Kingdom of God you have to be the servant of all.

So being a bishop is not a position where people will bow to your feet and serve you, but rather, the bishop is the servant of the people.

The Apostle Paul clearly understood the office and the call to greatness in the Body of Christ when he penned the letters to Timothy and in particular, 1Timothy 3:2-7. We'll look at this scripture more closely but first we must recognize that the office is given specifically in scripture to a man.

And now we will see what kind of man would be qualified for the office.

The Scriptures read: "This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop,[a] he desires a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money,[b] but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil."( 1 Timothy 3:2-7)

As the scriptures clearly show, the office of a bishop is one of servanthood. It is one of service to the Body of Christ. If you feel that this is where the Lord is leading you, once you meet the qualifications outlined in the scriptures above, the Lord will undoubtedly confirm his word by sending someone who will confirm the call of God upon your life. Remain faithful and true and the Lord will elevate you to serve His people in a greater way.
