WhereTo Find Seed Capital
Seed capital, where does the term come from? I could not find that answer, but I know the term has been around for many years. The term seed capital is widely used today by many venture capital firms when it comes to financing a start-up, however it does not come into play until there is an investor involved. Angel investors are more likely to invest seed capital.
Being prepared when talking to an investor is a necessity. Items that you should have ready for the investor are, your executive summary, complete business plan, presentation and get ready to answer many questions. Do not give them any false statements as most investors will see through any smoke and mirrors that you throw at them.
Here are some seed capital ideas. There are always week links in any business plan. When raising capital you need to find them before your investor does. Read your plan as a investor would and ask yourself, would you invest in this company? Obvious you will be biased as you wrote the plan, however really try to think through the whole plan. Many entrepreneurs will put their friends on the board of their company as they think that this will show the investors that they have a team in place. Search out retired business owners that were successful and ask them to give you a hand. I think you'll be surprised as to how many would offer you help. This would also look a lot stronger to your investor when they start to review your business. When your trying to raise capital for any business and whether it be seed capital or venture capital, you need to have everything in order. Your business plan should be a high priority, along with your presentation. Your financials must not be over stated as any experienced investor will see that they don't make sense. So make sure to review everything before your presentation and your chance of success will be much greater.
Just imagine how happy you'll be once you raise your capital for your business. I know that many people never find the right investor or any investor for their company. With them, their dreams slowly fade away, however it doesn't have to. Drive and determination is what will get you to your goal along with a good product and a business plan. Most people give up. All I can say is don't give up. If you have a good idea and you feel that you have everything in order, I would highly recommend working hard until you find your seed capital.
