Eggs are a very good source of protein that can be easily turned into a breakfast meal. A medium egg contain an impressive 5.5 grams (g) of protein. Eggs also contain a number of other health boosting nutrients including dietary fats, vitamin B2, vitamin B5, vitamin B12 and vitamin D. Having them for breakfast a few times each week can seriously increase your protein intake. When it comes to cooking eggs, you have plenty of options. Boiled eggs, fried eggs, poached eggs and omelettes are all quick, tasty and easy to prepare. So if you think you might be suffering from protein deficiency, ditch the cereal and have some eggs.

2) HAVE NUTS FOR A SNACK:

Nuts are an excellent source of protein with 100g of almonds containing a notable.4g of protein and a 100g of Brazil nuts supplying you with a notable 15.5g of protein. They also contain an impressive selection of other important nutrients such as dietary fibre, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. By snacking on nuts you will not just be getting extra protein in your diet. You will also be avoiding unhealthy snacks such as cakes, crisps and chocolate.

3) USE PROTEIN POWDER:

If for some reasons you really cannot get enough protein from the foods in your diet then protein powders are an option. However, they should only be used as a last resort. Protein powder is a nutritional supplement and should only be used to supplement a diet that already contains adequate amounts of this nutrient. It should not be relied upon as 1 of your main sources of protein. If you are consuming protein with each of your main meals and having nuts for snacks you should not need to use protein powders to treat a deficiency.

If you believe you are suffering from a deficiency then make sure you follow the tips in this article. This will allow you to add extra protein to each of your daily meals and ensure that you are getting enough of this important nutrient.
