Students willing to attain B schools and colleges affiliated to AICTE need to sit for CMAT or Common Management Admission Test. It is required to score a high score to get admission in the PGCM, PGCM or Executive MBA courses. A computer adaptive test, CMAT is usually dated in twice a year- February and September. Graduates (general) with 50% from any stream or final year graduation students can go for CMAT. The score limitation is 45% for the people belonging to the SC, ST and OBC category. A student must have comprehensive idea on the syllabus and question pattern along with regular practicing in order to secure an attractive score in CMAT. A student needs to be very choosy in the matter of the study materials. The teachers and experienced students can enlighten a person about the much necessary but selective CMAT materials. A student needs to combine accuracy, speed, and time management lots of practice to crack CMAT. A substantial deal of disciplined study, tuition classes and writing mock tests provide insight and expertise to the short cut techniques to solve the complex problems in lesser time. And achieving all these qualities must be the goal of CMAT exam preparation. In fact, in accordance to the expert opinion, an aspirant must initiate the preparation with a CMAT mock test, as it will help to understand a person to evaluate the overall condition before the CMAT exam preparation. If a person gets admitted in a CMAT coaching centre, it will be better as the preparation process will get a particular guided approach. These coaching centres take several mock tests before any CMAT. A student can go for online CMAT mock test and solve CMAT test paper as well as there are multiple websites offering this option. There are four sections in the CMAT MBA 2013 question paper, and each section carries 25 marks. As the system of negative marking persists, one mark is reduced from one wrong answer. Similarly four marks are given for each right answer. There are four sections in the CMAT question paper- Quantitative section, Reasoning power, Language and general knowledge. As it is clearly evident that the number of questions is always higher than the allotted time, it is always a matter of great importance to achieve the time management skill through rigorous practice. If a person carries on the CMAT exam preparation with a considerable deal of diligence and hard work, it is possible to get into a high ranking MBA college under AICTE. The preparation method is quite similar to that of CAT and other MBA entrance exams. As a first step of the preparation the fundamentals must be studied properly. If it takes a month or longer even then the time is worth devoting for this purpose. In the quantitative part, the student's grasp on the high school level Mathematics is put to test. In the logical reasoning part, the candidate’s logical thinking ability to crack a problem is tested. Different books on the English literature and language are there to prepare for CMAT English section. Following books, news papers and magazines for the current affairs is helpful for the GK section.
