Better coding through automated crash logging

by Virgil Woodlee

The best way to update your app is to add some automated error harvesting to help find issues. You don't want customers uninstalling or leaving because of weird bugs you would never find on your own.

Options so far are pretty hard to find. Android has logging built in with is good - but not great. And it only works really with Java applications, which doesn't help the cross platform HTML5 users.

Crashlog, a new error logging site has caused quite a hubbub so far during its closed beta period. Only very few people are being let in now - but the interest level is high.

The system supposedly offers crash and error analysis as well as limited self-healing capacity. Since the library is being changing so much at this stage - only few brave developers are being given access. Supposedly iOS is the current testing focus and new keys are being granted for it only.
