What makes a Home, a Home?

by Houzkare On Demand Home Care

“Let’s go home”. We’re all familiar with this phrase, be it in the movies when at the climax, the main actor says it to the rest as though it were nirvana or in real life when we’re done and dusted and just long to seek the comfort of its refuge. Have we ever wondered why do we yearn to return to a place that we didn’t even know, a place that was alien before we inhabited it? How does so much meaning get attached to a “place”? When does a shelter become “home”? Humans are not just social but also emotional beings. We are perhaps the only creation with the highest quantum of emotions. Every aspect of our life is connected in some way to an emotion if not emotions. The human ability to “feel” the abstract is not found in any other species. It is this mysterious and beautiful ability that drives ambitions, fuels vengeance, gives the strength to forgive, and causes love and hatred. When emotion is attached to any object, it becomes valuable. When emotion is sustained for that object over a significant duration of time, it becomes invaluable. Why else do seemingly worthless pieces of metal, steel and stone sell for millions of dollars at auctions if not for the emotion behind them, the story they are an integral part of? A house therefore becomes a home when it shelters not just those who live in it but also their emotions. Emotions are that which give memories their meaning. Void of emotions, memories hold little worth. One of the most immediate responses to the question of what makes a home, a home is “memories”. It is undeniably true that memories are that which add meaning to any connection. To connect is therefore the first step towards building memories. Memories that last not just a lifetime but for ages. Memories that eventually become history. A connection with the house is therefore necessary for it to become a home. It is human nature that we connect with that which appeals to us, which arouses us, intrigues us. But these are only the initial factors that help establish the connection. For a connection to be meaningful, it has to be sustainable. It is also in our nature that we cannot endure that which does not appeal to, arouse or intrigue us consistently. If it’s not consistent, we get bored, when we get bored, we get nonchalant and ignorant and when we become ignorant, the connection ends. The matter of point here is that the place that shelters us, provides us refuge, the place we go back to at the end of each day is the place we ought to take care of. The place we call home needs consistent care and repair for it is the space that not only shelters us but also houses our emotions, creates memories and births joy. We at Houzkare care for your emotions and memories and therefore provide domestic services on these lines. A home is a treasure trove of living after all. http://www.houzkare.com/professional-home-cleaning-services.html
