How To Make Sure Your Holiday Cards Get Read
Let’s admit it. Most of the holiday cards sent each year only get thrown away. Why? Because they are send to random people. If you are a business owner and you want to make your holiday cards count, you need to create it well. This doesn’t mean using just any template and sending them to just about anyone. You have to be very careful of how you design your cards and to whom you send them. Here’s a quick guide to making sure your cards get read and appreciated:
1- Put something memorable on the design. This doesn’t have to be something expensive. Just create a simple design with a warm (and funny) holiday greeting. People always like a humorous card. Don’t forget to put in some subtle marketing but don’t make it sound too marketing-ish. Remember it’s the holidays. People want to have fund and relax. They don’t want to receive just another ad. With a good though and careful planning, you can be sure to come up with a clever and humorous card.
2- Make them personal. Your customers don’t want a card your assistant made. They want something more personal and genuine. It’s best if you personalize your cards so they won’t look like just another card from a random business establishment. Make them sound and look like you personally created the card just for them. If you can sign them personally, all the better. Remember, be more human. 3- Send them to people you know and who know you. If you don’t want your cards to get considered as spam, then send them to people who are on your mailing list, preferably those who already know you. It can be your existing customers, your loyal patrons, or your prospects who have received some form of marketing from you in the past. This will greatly reduce the chance of your card getting thrown away.
4- Send them early. You don’t want your cards to reach the recipients on the busiest time of the year. Chances are they won’t get noticed and will only get read after the holidays. Why don’t your send them early so they will be read before the hustle and bustle starts. This will give your cards a better chance of getting read.
5- Print them well and ahead of time. If you want to send them early, then you need to print them ahead of time. Make sure the quality of printing is really good so your cards will look exceptionally great. This will convince your readers that the card is from a trusted business that won’t waste their time. Fortunately, there are plenty of credible print shops out there today. The key is finding the best one that will fit your printing need and, of course, your budget.
Holiday greeting cards are created for a simple reason: to send warm greeting during the holiday season. Although this is a good chance to market to your customers and prospects, you’ll only make your business blacklisted on your customers’ mailbox if you do this. Just keep your card simple. Give your warm and genuine holiday greetings and leave the marketing piece for later. Remember that your goal is to stay visible in front of your customers, so just aim on that and the rest will follow.
