Mntain bike racing

The 1st mountain cycling world cup series happened in 1991. Its nine-race circuit covered 2 continents, Europe and North America, and was sponsored by Grundig. In 1992, the Grundig-UCI world cup circuit stretched to ten races, furthermore remained a trans-Atlantic series. Cross-country racing was really the only world cup sport presently, then in 1993 a six-event downhill world cup was introduced. In 1996, cross-country mountain biking events were being added to the Olympic Games.

There are many races intended for mountain bike racers. They are: Cross-country (XC) racing is held on a mixed ground circuit, it is often more or less 6-8 kilometers (km) and is always a massed-start race. Short Track Cross Country (STXC). An extremely brief XC method event of approximately 800m in extent but in general roughly 1 minute 30 seconds in winning time. Downhill (DH) racing is a time trial event. Riders set off at intervals that may fluctuate from 30 seconds to three minutes according to the stage of the competition Super D (SD) is a mix of cross-country and downhill. A lot of the event is downhill, on trails just like the downhill segment of the cross-country race. There's also short (100–500m) uphill sections that make the use of downhill bicycles tricky, Freeride (FR) competitions are usually not so much a race as these are a competition of proficiency. Courses contain untrustworthy cliffs, drops, obstacles, in addition to ramps. Dual Slalom (DS) can be described as ski-inspired event which pits two riders adjacent to each other on two matching man-made tracks side-by-side while using same jumps as well as berms, (4X, also called 'mountain cross' or 'bikercross') encouraged by the twin format and by BMX racing, this event pits four riders on identical track from starting gates to end. Marathon (XCM) is maybe the toughest form of mountain biking for the reason that riders regularly have to cover exceeding 80 km in a single race on mountaineous territory. Enduro (ND) is a comparatively new format which appears to have taken a little inspiration from both auto rally and motorcycle enduro racing. Races are held in favor of every age groups and levels. Beginner races are less pressured, and you may always start further back in the field if it's your first time

This relies on the person however as these races are typically less than two hours, food is not so significant. Have a very good quality meal and drink before hand, despite the fact that. An energy bar should do it for the race. Water is dependent upon the individual and the weather conditions. Simply don't overdo it. Hauling a gallon of water is going to make you need a gallon of water, subsequently make an effort to achieve a balance.

In wrapping up Mountain Bike Racing seriously is not for the faint hearted. This are a lot more than just a day out on your Mountain Bike. Consequently get in shape, attend a variety races, get famalier with what's happening. Know the topography and I do know you'll like the people...
