How to make pancakes

by Norene Glendening

Pancakes are one of the most popular breakfasts around the world, and what's to not adore about pancakes? These airy and fluffy platters of tastiness may be covered with just about anything like syrup or berries, or simply make unlimited varieties of pancake batter and close off all those outstanding flavors from within. With all styles of pancake recipes out there, it's hard to know which is going to be truly worth trying. This is exactly why we have taken time to include some of our favorites here at home and outlined how to make pancakes in as much detail as possible, so you can choose for yourself what you and your loved ones are really craving!

Pumpkin Pancakes Ingredients List

* 1-1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour * 2 Tablespoons sugar * 2 teaspoons baking powder * 1 teaspoon ginger * 1 teaspoon cinnamon * 1 teaspoon nutmeg * 1 teaspoon salt * 1 cup milk (any kind) * 6 Tablespoon Pumpkin puree * 2 Tablespoon melted butter * 1 large egg

Setting up the Pumpkin Pancake Batter

In one container, put all of your dry ingredients -- flour, sugar, baking powder and soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. Blend these together well and make sure each is distributed evenly. Within a different container, blend all of the wet ingredients -- eggs, buttermilk, melted butter, and pumpkin puree.

Whenever both dry and wet ingredients are separately mixed, pour the wet together with the dry. Fuse all of your ingredients together until the pancake batter thickens up a bit and starts to create tiny lumps.

Making the Pancakes

With all the batter crafted, it is time for you to get the skillet set for cooking. Heat the stove to around medium heat or just below. Pour a little bit of vegetable oil in the bottom of the griddle to prevent the pancake from adhering to the skillet and help brown it too.

The great thing about making pancakes is you can decide how much you would like to utilize and if you would like small or humongous pancakes. The size of pancake you're going with will change just how long you will have to cook both sides though. Small pancakes take less time and larger pancakes take more time.

In order to cook them the right amount of time, what you need to do is wait until eventually you see tiny bubbles springing up from the pancake batter. This means that the pancake needs to be flipped over. Cook the other side of your pancake for just a little less time than you cooked the initial side which should give you the golden color you want for each side.

A Pancake for Pumpkin Lovers

As soon as the pancakes have been completely made, it is time for the very best part -- the enjoying! Go ahead and add any kind of toppings you desire that you would traditionally put on pancakes like warm, dripping syrup or melted butter. But when you want a pumpkin pancake that's genuinely unique, put a little bit of whipped cream on top and switch your own pumpkin pancakes in a dish that resembles classic pumpkin pie!
