5 Ways To Improve Your Life

by Mark Shapiro

I'm a judgment broker that writes a lot. I've used meditation for longer than a decade, and it has helped me a lot. This article discusses five concepts which might bring to a less stressful and more productive methods of thinking, that might increase happiness. These 5 ideas have helped me a lot, perhaps they could help you as well:

1) Do not ignore your problems. Instead, decide what to do with them. Either work on them, or accept what cannot be changed and move on to better thoughts, and do not stress over what you cannot fix. Many of the things folks become mad or sad about, will not matter in the grand scheme of things. When you're broke, only think about your financial situation when it comes up. I think about money only when shopping or paying bills. Other than at these times, I do not think about my financial situation; instead I concentrate on feeling the right way, and making the correct choices.

Accept things as they are. Let things happen, and don't attempt to fix what cannot be changed. I know I can't change reality, however sometimes in certain ways I can bend it a bit.

2) Remain confident, and do not worry about irrelevant put-downs by other people. How can one gain confidence? We're all special having unique assets which make us who we are. If this is not enough, pretend being happy until you succeed. Smile, dress right or comfortably, take advantage of what is, then take steps to work on your future, or on maintenance.

Pretend to already have a million dollars. If you feel confident, you will act that way. Confidence comes from experience, and if you do not have it, you can at least pretend as long as you have to.

3) Get motivated to do something, any positive action is right. Try to choose the right action to accomplish in every moment. Try to feel as if you have already accomplished your goals, and start working on the goal, if you are able. A secret is Do-Be-Do-Be-Do (Do things, and also Be happy as well.)

Try to feel like you are already rich, while you're working at, or planning on earning each dollar in one way or the other. Listen to music or watch TV when you want, simply begin taking constructive action to either improve your current life or the future.

4) Practice meditation. Meditation trains your mind into learning a unique way of appreciating life as it is, and offers one time away from continuous stimulation.

A shortcut to meditation is to sit or lie down while listening to binaural-beat sound tracks with quality headphones for at least 30 minutes a day, keeping your eyes closed. One may buy binaural sound tracks cheap on EBay, or buy professional audio recordings from companies such as HoloSync and The Monroe Institute.

For an hour each day I meditate, and sometimes it is the best part of every day, and lets me detach somewhat from any stresses of daily life. Meditation doesn't eliminate your problems, although it helps you put your problems into perspective, to help make the problems less like problems and more like situations.

5) Remain grateful. Our lives are largely because of chance. Every one of us is the combination of evolution over countless years, and the coming together of an infinite number of coincidences, plans, accidents, choices, experiences, and learnings, which combine to determine who we end up to be.

Living is something special, and we can choose to look at death as our reward which includes a reminder not to take life for granted. One should appreciate living, make the best of each situation, and try not be bothered about trivia. Every second that passes makes us get old and someday die, and that is our design. Why worry about what cannot change? Let's have fun while the lasts. An experience close to death usually makes folks appreciate their current lives a lot more. In time, you could learn to feel this way, without coming anywhere close to death.

Of course, these kind of concepts are easier to write or talk about, than do, however any kind of progress we make related to these 5 ideas will probably help. Namaste, this word means acknowledging the spirit in every one of us.
