Take A Look At These Immunity System Boosting Superfoods

by Steve Gruchota

We've all been taught the best steps to take to have optimum health. Schedule three or more exercise sessions into your week and plan to spend 30 minutes, at least, on each session. In order to keep from becoming dehydrated, you must drink adequate amounts of water daily. The foods you eat must be varied and healthful. These are all good ideas, but suppose your immune system needs a power boost? Maybe you woke up this morning with aches and pains and no energy. You've heard about superfoods that can strengthen your immune system. Are there such foods? Yes, there actually are! We'll talk about three superfoods you can add to your diet that will help keep your immune system in top shape.

One of the best foods to eat to have a stronger immune system are almonds. Most folks don't even think about them in relation to their health. For one thing, they contain a good amount of magnesium. Why is magnesium so important? It makes your cells strong. Magnesium also plays an important role in strengthening your immune system. Almonds are great because they taste really good and are really easy to find. You can find almonds at any warehouse store, many roadside stands, and at your local grocery store. They are so versatile you can add them to many items you bake. Chop some up and add them to your oatmeal or any cereal. They're great in granola or muesli. You can also simply eat them plain if you like them that way.

Raw kale is what you want to eat, as it's better for you than cooked kale. Raw kale is one of the very best forms of vitamin C that you can find. It's also low in sugar and high in fiber - both advantageous to your health. If you must cook your kale, be advised that this kills off some of the valuable Vitamin C your body needs.

Vitamin C is very sensitive to heat and it breaks down when it gets warm. So, when you add kale to your diet, such as in salads, be sure it's raw. You already know that vitamin C is best for your immune system, so make sure you eat raw kale at least once a week to keep your immune system strong.

Are you familiar with the herb Echinacea? It can be used to strengthen your immune system. You probably wouldn't call the herb Echinacea a superfood because it's not something you eat directly or add to the foods you prepare, but it's important for your immune system. Typically this herb is taken as a supplement when cold and flu symptoms first start to set in. Do not try to chew on the plant itself though. While almost the whole plant is typically ground up for the capsules you take, it is not actually an edible plant. It's not a good idea to eat raw Echinacea as it could adversely affect your stomach. Each day new foods are being discovered that have the ability to strengthen your immune system. These foods are called superfoods. In this report, we've given you the benefits of including pork chops, mushrooms, and garlic in your diet to strengthen your immune system. You could even prepare a delightful dish combining all three superfoods! Start including these, and other, superfoods in your daily regimen to keep your immune system healthy. Search online for other superfoods, as well as herbs and spices, that will give you optimum health.
