The Old Vicarage Guest House is a comfortable and pleasant Ambleside Guest House. It is friendly and relaxing with a warm welcome for all customers. It is perfectly located in Langdale which is ideal for walkers. The guest house always has a warm welcome for all of its visitors, of which many are repeat customers due to the excellent hospitality they receive on each visit. Along with so much repeat business there is also a lot of business generated from positive word of mouth which is a positive accolade to have.

The Old Vicarage was bought and set up as a quality Ambleside bed and breakfast in 1989 when Ian and Helen Burt saw the potential in the building. They were experienced hoteliers and had been running their own hotel businesses since 1977 and prior to that they were also involved in hotel management and consultancy in both the Lake District and Wales.

What makes the Old Vicarage one of the most special Ambleside b&bs is the fact that it is the only Guest House Ambleside with its own swimming pool, hot tub and sauna, along with the guest lounge and extensive terrace. The accommodation appears more like that of a top quality Lake District hotel rather than an Ambleside B&B, the only difference being the lack of dinner!

The B&B is conveniently located just two minutes walk away from the town centre of Ambleside which also makes it ideal for trips to Grasmere, Keswick and Windermere. The guest house has private car parking so you can relax in the knowledge that your car is safe and secure whilst you leave it behind and head off walking onto the Lakeland Fells in order to enjoy the stunning views of Lake Windermere.

All of the rooms are en-suite and are situated on all floors, including the ground floor which means easy access for those who struggle with stairs. You can choose from the more traditional room through to contemporary rooms. All of which are very clean and comfortable. The majority of rooms also have room for one and sometime two children if these are your circumstances.

Being a B&B, customers will need somewhere to eat in the evenings and Ambleside has no shortage of eating establishments to cater for all tastes. These range from small cafes to large restaurants, pubs, fish and chip shops, Indian, Chinese, Italian and Thai restaurants. Advice on where to eat can be provided once settled into the comfortable surroundings of the Old Vicarage Ambleside Bed and Breakfast.
