Situated on the River Inn, Inssbruck is famous former Olympic city surrounded by imposing mountains, crating a dramatic backdrop for skiing. For the thrill seekers there is the thrilling Back Run which runs roughly twenty two kilomtres, causing the region to merge into the enormous Zillertal 300.
Apres-Ski is highly developed, with a mass of bars, restaurants and clubs to keep you entertained after skiing.
Obertauern is a better choice for families and groups of friends, and enjoys a fantastic location shrouded by the jagged peaks of the Radstadter Mountains. First time and intermediate skiers are catered for on The Green Circuit, whereas more experienced skiers can try out The Pink Circuit for a more challenging course. There is plenty to do in the evening, with Salzburg close by, and a buzzing apres-ski vibe.
Soll is full of charming traditional guest houses and inns for any budget, which has been attracting English skiers for years.
The lift system has recently been improved, offering a range of access of more than 250 kilometres of piste. While there is plenty for the experienced skier to do, the resort is caters more for novices and intermediates, boasting an excellent range of nursery slopes. The aprs-ski is lively and congenial, and not so hard on the wallet.
