Single Parents Dating: How To Deal With An Indecisive Dater
It's normal that before you can say that you are dating a person, you would wait for a couple of days or months for sparks to completely fly. However, there are certain singles out there that you can neither determine if he's serious or still indecisive. Having a loosely connected relationship with someone is hard. For one, you can't really tell where your relationship stands. Let's say this guy tells you that he loves you but then doesn't seem to be enthusiastic and lack the passion. How would you take it? It's better to know if you are going to get rejected rather than kept hanging on. Are you really dating or just hanging out? Does he see you as a potential partner material or not? Yes? No? Maybe? Singles like these are really hard to decipher. It's quite confusing and a let down in a long term with all these ambivalent atmosphere hanging around you two. It's even more difficult to lead someone who's still quite unsure of himself. If you are in a similar situation, remember these things. Don't take it all on yourself. If you are sure and he is not then the problem lies within him and not you. Those feelings of indecisiveness or having dilemmas isn't really connected to you. It maybe something more personal and sometimes it's affected by a person's past issues which he hasn't moved on from. Sometimes there are fears and even situations that make a person hold back from really knowing what he wants. You did nothing wrong so don't feel guilty and you don't have any responsibility to try and make things right, let him resolve his issues on his own.
Try to back off. Waiting for someone for ages just to decide on something can really put a toll on your patience. So instead of being angry and confrontational, try giving him some space. Back off for a while and see what happens. Will he follow you? Or will he just let you go? Sometimes when you push too hard the other tend to pull away farther. Don't play mind games, you and that person has got enough of that already. Back away if it means that you have to move forward. Let him think over and figure things out on where he wants to go with his life.
Set a limit. It would be unfair on your part to keep on waiting for something uncertain right? Relationships do take time to foster and build up all those emotions of love. However, some people can stay stagnant or lukewarm in a relationship for long periods. When that time comes and you feel that you've waited long enough but still see no changes and end up on a dead end then stop before you continually frustrate yourself. Sometimes things just don't go the way we want to, but we just see it too late. It's just then we have realised that we wasted so much time mulling over something that won't happen.
