Baby Jogger City Select-Things to Contemplate Before You Purchase

The Baby Jogger City Select is a radical stroller/pushchair that makes getting your kids from one place to another with you a cinch. Let's start with the seat! The seat may look small, but it is actually very spacious. With a high weight capacity of 45 lbs per seat, we were able to easily fit our 5 year old tester. The seat is 12" wide and has a short 18 1/2" seatback. Not to worry though because Baby Jogger wanted the seat to accommodate older and taller children, so they made the canopy adjustable with 2 positions to grow with your child. With the canopy in its lowest position, it has a 21" seatback to canopy height. The canopy will adjust to 24 inches for children that are a bit taller, and our 5 year old trster was able to fit very comfortably. The seat houses a padded, adjustable, 5-point harness for protection, as well as, an adjustable footrest with 4 assorted positions. The seat can be reversed so that your child can look at dad or out at the world and is modifiable so they can be up in an elevated position or down in a lower position.

We can't say enough about Baby Jogger canopies! The City Select is no not excluded! The sun canopy is quite big with three sections and is complete with a peek-a-boo window with magnetic flap closure. A great thing about the canopy is that it adjusts to create more headroom as your child grows.

The City Select dawns two 12″ forever-air rear and two 8″ lightweight front wheels with front wheel suspension and sealed ball bearings to provide your little rider a very even ride. You won't worry about a flat with this stroller! These heavy duty tires can hurtle through different terrain just like grass, playground mulch and cobblestone street.

Also, we like that the front swivel wheels also lock straight for rougher ground. There is also an easy to do hand operated parking brake that is conveniently located next to the main seat.

Even though the City Select weighs about 28 pounds (which is still the average for full-size single strollers, we were able to lift it, and place it in the trunk with ease. When you add the second seat, the stroller weight is 34 lbs which takes a bit more muscle if you fold it and lift it with both seats attached. Even at 34 pounds (with the second seat added), you can still get it in the trunk with a tad more elbow grease.} The seats are so easy to remove if you would like to lift less weight though.

We were very impressed on how simple it was to maneuver the City Select. When the stroller is in single mode, we found that it was very simple to turn on the dime, even with one hand, and a 45lbs rider. In double mode, the stroller only takes a bit more power to move about. We found it is easiest to maneuver with your larger child in the seat closest to mommy or daddy. In all the different seat/bassinet configurations, we found the maneuverability to be better than most. The trick to the best handling with two children riding along is to place the larger child closet to mom. }

Is the Baby Jogger City Select Right for My Baby?

The Baby Jogger City Select is a luxurious stroller and it is going to cost you a luxurious price. But for a stroller with such secure construction that can turn from a single to a double and back to a single again, we kinda think it's worth it! No need to pay money for an entire second stroller when next baby arrives!

For mothers that are on the go and looking for an easy to use stroller, this is the obvious alternative. The Baby Jogger City Select is developed to effortlessly fold up and put away in your vehicle or your home. The Baby Jogger City Select was built for every parent. That is what makes it stand out from the crowd. Tall or short, the handlebar can be adjusted to just the height you need. The parking brake is powerful enough to stop a car, yet much less complicated to operate.
