The burger, America’s quintessential comfort food, can now be enjoyed in an impossibly endless number of ways. There are round-the-clock burgers at 24-hour-roadside joints and ephemeral late-night burgers sold out in mere minutes; burgers grilled in hundred-year-old cast-iron broilers and burgers steamed in state-of-the-art ovens; burgers crafted from beef imported from Japan and burgers made with Black Angus beef from just down the road; burgers innocuously topped with melted American cheese and burgers piled high with crumbly, statement-making Roquefort cheese. It’s clearly a great time to love the burger.

Burger Bar Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NV) Chef Hubert Keller's Burger Bar Las Vegas turns out Angus beef, turkey and vegetarian burgers, and even game options such as buffalo. We love burgers. We love them so much that every year after we publish our list of the best ones, we spend the rest of the year trying others, second guessing ourselves, and going kind of insane. This being the third year of our list, we tried to add a few classics we’d neglected and some newcomers that would not be denied, while keeping a core of places we love so much we just can’t possibly remove them . Oh, and this year we’re having a little fun as well. Using these picks, we’ve created a burger bracket to try and determine the people’s choice among our 33 favorites. The first round voting closes at midnight on Tuesday, July 28th, so go here....https://goo.gl/ZG9YA2 to vote for your favorites to move on.
