Getting Over Your Ex Girlfriend By Becoming A Master Of Mind Control

by Glenn Devey

First off I need to clear one thing up right away. This article is about controlling your own mind in a better way, not anyone else's. But having said that, learning to run your own brain in a better way is probably the most important skill you can learn in life. If you're getting over your ex girlfriend and are still haunted by memories of the past and hallucinations of what she's doing right now, you definitely need to learn this technique. It does require a bit of imagination however.

I want you to pretend that inside your head is a movie theatre. On that movie screen there are some horrible or depressing films showing. How you're feeling is as a direct response to the films you've been watching. In fact, you got so engrossed that you jumped into the screen and started to re-enact the scenes all over again. They were starring you and your ex - either real memories from your personal history or imagined ones. Either way they were upsetting images about your ex.

The good news is that Steve Spielberg was due to re-make the film and make it a smash hit, but he wasn't available and has asked you to stand in. You just got promoted to movie director, editor and producer.

Now relax, the imagining part is over for now - back to getting over your ex girlfriend. Which of these is worse: Sitting real close up to a scary horror movie, with huge Dolby surround sound speakers blasting into your ears or looking a tiny still shot from the movie? Yep, the movie.

One of the reasons you're feeling bad about what happened is that you haven't yet put the proper editing cuts on the movie about what happened between you and your ex. In fact it doesn't matter whether the film you're watching is a real memory or something you've imagined her doing (with someone else even). You can still re-edit to make it have less of an impact.

Here's what I want you to do.

1. Select the thought that causes you the most distress - a memory or an imagined one - about you and your ex.

2. Imagine sitting in a movie theatre, watching the movie of that thought. If you were featured in that movie, ensure that you can see your whole self in the film. If you're not in it, fine - don't put yourself in there.

3. Now move back 30 rows, and make the picture smaller and further away.

4. Draw all of the colour out of the frame and turn the brightness down so that it's more difficult to watch.

5. Turn the sound down.

Just notice how your feelings get less intense when you can't see or hear the film properly. Cool huh?

You may need to practice this over and over, until you can't access the film in its original release. But that's okay, better to spend ten minutes a day on this for a couple of days than spend the rest of your life running the same film over and over again, and believe me there are people that do - but not you. Getting over your ex girlfriend just got quicker and easier. Get to it!
