Boys Party Theme Ideas For Ages 8 - 10
There are several fun boy's party theme ideas for ages 8-10. You could have an outer space party and let the kids be astronauts exploring the universe. Start with an invitation shaped like or with a picture of a rocket ship on it. The invitation could say "All Space Explorers Are Invited to Come Discover the Universe at _____". Decorate the party area with posters of outer space, the moon, and rocket ships. Put cutouts of stars, planets and moons on the walls too. Get moon and star shaped balloons, fill them with helium and float them from the ceiling. Use silver streamers to add to the overall effect. Use a large cardboard box that appliances like refrigerators come in. If you can't find one make a rectangular shaped box with poster board and cover it with aluminum foil. Inside the front of the box tape a poster board, control panel and on the sides at the back put red poster board to represent flames. Let the kids get in the box then tell them they are taking off to another planet. Shake the box a little, and then announce that they have arrived. Let them get out and explore. Before the party, you should have hidden miniature toy creatures around the party area for them to find. Next, let the kids watch a movie about outer space. Then serve refreshments.
Another great boy's party theme idea for ages 8-10 is a super hero party. Send out invitations that invite the superheroes to come defend the neighbor against the forces of evil. As the kids arrive, give each one a cape made from a plastic tablecloth and a half mask. Set the tone of the room by having posters of superheroes, and action heroes on the wall. Use bright colors for the party. Have helium balloons floating on the ceiling with long curly ribbons for ties. Attach party favors to the ribbons. These can be anything that glows in the dark, rolled up comic books, or coloring pages. But, best of all attach miniature action and super hero figures to balloons at each child's place setting for party favors. Have a trivia game with questions about the most well known super heroes. Give stickers as prizes for the right answers.
A "sports practice party is another good party theme for boys ages 8-10. This requires either one or both of the child's parents to be present to help at the party. Pick one or two sports that the kids like and play or want to start playing. Contact the parents ahead of time; this requires a phone call, email or text message because you need more than the party invitation info. Before you gather or rent any equipment decide on the sports you are going to use. Ask the parents to let you know what area of the sport they can help the kids practice. One Dad may be great at basketball and one Mom may be wonderful at hitting baseballs. For this to be a success, know in advance exactly what each parent is going to teach. Keep in mind that even if they are just helping out with the equipment or keeping score they are helping. After doing all that activity the kids will be hungry so take them out for pizza or have a cookout at home.
