Things That You Need To Know When It Comes To Your IPhone

by Elwin Jernigan

There are new applications being released every day for your iPhone. There are probably dozens that could help simplify your life, if you knew how to use them. Keep reading this article in order to make your phone a device that can save you a headache rather than giving you one.

When travelling through the web using the iPhone, you never have to worry about including the ".com" after the web address. Just input the main address part, without ".com," and you will be taken to the site. This tip may seem silly, but it really saves time over the long run, especially if you navigate to sites a lot over the course of your iPhone's life.

Once you know how the volume button can be used to take a photo, try using the headphone cord to snap a picture. Press the button on the cord when you are ready. Doing so will give you a clear shot without shaking your iPhone.

Are you completely overwhelmed by constant notifications received on your iPhone? Here is a tip on how to turn them off. First, choose Settings. Then tap the bar for Notifications. Check the heading marked "In Notification Center" and take out any apps that you don't need. This will also help your battery to last longer.

The iPhone gives you the freedom to develop a custom dictionary and your own specific shortcuts. Diction will be able to know what you intend to say. You can add your own phrases or shortcuts to your iPhone as well. The keyboard also has an auto-correct feature that will help you when you type a phrase or word.

There are different ways that you can improve how fast your messages are created. If your iPhone doesn't correctly guess the word you are attempting to text, you can touch the screen anywhere to cancel the guess. The "x" icon doesn't need to be accessed to stop a word.

When viewing a web page in Safari, you can use either one finger or two to scroll. If the page is separated into boxes, one finger scrolling allows you to go through each box. Scrolling with two fingers will help you scroll through the whole page.

Just like other kinds of smart phones, you can set up an iPhone to give you a visual indicator for the calls and messages you receive. If you want a notification that's silent, but easy to notice, you can set it up so that your phone's LED camera blinks each time a message comes in. Use the menu for Settings, then General, then Accessibility. Select "LED Flash" for your alerts.

Are you having second thoughts about the latest missive you entered into iMessage? Has Auto Correct made you sound silly? The easiest way to undo this is to just give a quick shake to your iPhone. This etch-a-sketch action automatically erases recent typing. This feature is optional. You have to verify in Settings to ensure that it is enabled.

If your iPhone gets wet when you drop it, don't panic--this happens to a lot of people. However, it's important not to turn it back on right away. Let it dry out as much as possible before attempting to turn the power on.
