Once your blog is ready as per your list of to do's, make it viral. Circulate on the internet. Share on submission sites. Often some sites "own" your content. Do read the terms and conditions before you post your stuff.

One of the most important things is that if people read your stuff and it is getting popular, they should also know about the author (that's you). It will make your credibility and the when you will write something next time, people will follow that too. You will have followers and fans because of your writing. Being a dedicated blogger needs a lot of commitment and loyalty. It is a serious activity, whether it's your job or hobby. Your words can change someone's life or even destroy it. Words are a valuable asset. Choose and use them wisely. Take feedback from friends and people around first and foremost. Later you can share on the internet. After all the writing stuff, you can now take care of the looks.
