Holiday Weekends Can Be Perfect For Productivity And Business Building
If you're ready to get ahead and make some progress in your business, Holiday weekends can be the perfect opportunity. Most people are off traveling, shopping, sitting at the beach, but you can take this time to work on your business and something that will bring you an income. A good time to start doing this is at the beginning of summer and doing it all the way through the end of September.
You may be thinking that you will miss all of the fun, but the truth is that you will enjoy yourself so much more if you feel like you are accomplishing something in your Internet business at the same time. I first did this during the summer of 2006, when I was just getting started online and surrounded by friends and family members who only understood the life of an employee. While they moaned and groaned about having to return to work after the long weekend was over, I just smiled and knew that I was building something that would serve me for years to come.
You must be strategic about this so that no one will feel left out and you will still be productive. In my opinion, you should work on small projects like writing blog posts and articles instead of larger projects like trying to create a new product or write a book. This enables you to focus for short bursts of time and then get back to the festivities.
Make a list of small projects you will be able to work on. If you will be writing blog posts, write down the topic of the post, a few sentences of what you'd like to include, and one or two keyword phrases to concentrate on. Find a time when you can excuse yourself from the group and sit by yourself for fifteen to twenty minutes to write your post. If you do not have your computer with you, and there is not another one available for you to use, write your post in a notebook. Write as much as you can in the allotted time, and then return to the group for at least an hour. Two or three quiet sessions should be as much as you need to complete your post.
You may even want to tell the others what you are doing, and then share the results with them at the end of the day. It's a win win situation - you get to enjoy the time with your family and friends during a Holiday weekend plus work on building your business and they get included in what you're doing.
