A New Life of Happiness
In this beautiful, fun, exciting, wonderful, but wicked world of ours, I have my fair share of almost everything. I've experienced a lot of things great and beautiful as well as misfortunes and pain. I have a great job which I learned to love so much. It's the only job that I have, but it is stable and fun. I'm a boat builder, 62 years of age and still going strong and healthy. I have 2 children, one from the first marriage, none from the second (Thank God), and a 39-month old in this last. Oh, yes. I've been to three nuptials… and that's what I wanted to share. My first two marriages have turned to ashes for reasons of incompatibility, falling out of love, and things like that. You know when you get married to a person who wanted to make her own way and stamp this world with her own markings. Well, that's a trait we westerners have, I guess, men and women alike - over-achievers, we all are; and I don't intend to offend my countrymen in saying so. The long and short of it, my first marriages did not work out because of those kinds of things. So I lived by myself and put all my efforts to my job. An old buddy of mine, however, paid me a visit one day. I learned from him why his marriage is still working strong until now, with 5 children, and with the same woman he still loves so much - a Filipina. Well, I envied him, literally green-eyed of his relational achievement. By his goading, though I thought it was very silly and outrageous for my age - in fact, I laughed it out loud - I made use of the internet/online dating services to find a new companion for me after he left. After going from site to site for a while sending emails and messages and chatting but couldn't seem to find my match, I came across a profile of an Oriental woman almost half my age then at www.myasianaffair.com <http://www.myasianaffair.com>. Again, the endless flow of emails and chatting went on; but eventually, I found myself committing to her alone, disregarding other "seekers" and "punters". I fell in love with her simplicity, honesty, openness and gullibility. Again, to make my long love story short, we made out and finally I walked down the aisle for the third time to say "I do". Well, that was more than three years ago. Am I still happy? Happy is a weak word to describe what I am feeling. Blissful is more like it and heavenly, to give it more accent. How do you expect me to live this long all the while with great health and full of vigor? I can still build boats with my own bare hands! Well, there goes the secret of my new life of happiness.
