New Centara Hotel Opening in Mauritius in December 2012

On 15th December 2012, there will be a soft opening of Centara Poste Lafayette Resort and Spa in Mauritius. At the moment, the finishing touches are being made with water features being installed and flower beds and trees being planted. This will be the first Centara Hotel and Resort in Mauritius.

The Thailand based group is proud to be setting up in Mauritius and the CEO Thirayuth Chirathivat recently confirmed that the first guests will be welcomed on December 15th. He was keen to point out that the main work in the hotel has all been finished and that all that remains are the finishing touches which include the landscaping programme.

The new resort is situated along the northeast coast of Mauritius and has a fabulous beach and lagoon with a beautiful mountain on one side providing a dramatic backdrop. There are one hundred superior or deluxe rooms and all have either garden or ocean views. Those planning a family holiday will be delighted that they will now have more family friendly Mauritius hotels to choose from as the Centara Mauritius will cater for families as well as couples and groups of adults.

When it comes to dining at the Centara Mauritius, there will be plenty of choice with an all day restaurant serving international dishes and a fabulous beachfront restaurant where guests can enjoy Indian Ocean and Asian cuisine. Those who love seafood will enjoy the Aqua bar and restaurant which will also serve mouth watering cocktails.

In terms of activities, there will be something for everyone. There is a kid's swimming pool as well as a free-form pool and children will be entertained in the kid's club while the adults can enjoy the fitness centre or spa. When it comes to fun and adventure there will be many activities on the beach such as badminton and volleyball and of course, snorkelling will be a major activity because of the calm lagoon waters.

Outside of the resort, there is also plenty to keep you entertained. There are usually a number of excursions available to book through your resort and things like mountain trekking are quite popular. You could also book a shopping trip to Port Louis, the capital. Here you can enjoy some fantastic shops and pick up some great souvenirs to take home with you. There are also some amazing restaurants and bars here where you can enjoy some time away from your resort.

Take a trip to Iles aux Cerfs to try out the 18-hole championship course designed by the famous golfer, Bernhard Langer. It is an experience not to be missed.
