How To Buy The Perfect PC

Be clear what you want it for...

by Sam Qam

With the entire world sweeping onto the internet for everything from buying shoes to meeting new friends it is very hard to get by in life without a decent PC. While you may have been able to survive for a while using the clunky machine at your local library or the old Mac you had since they were invented, it must be about time you got with the times and got a new one. Besides, as the internet and games demand more and more CPU power and faster graphics cards you will never get the full benefits from software and websites without a PC that can keep up.

Here is a quick guide to help you pick a new PC that is just right for you:

Decide what you want it for

First thing you need to do is to decide what it is you want to use your new PC for. Maybe you like the look of all the amazing games you see adverts for on television and want to have a gaming PC capable of playing them on. Or maybe you are a film maker who wants to be able to edit your films rapidly without having to wait an hour to render a few seconds of footage.

Then work out what you really need it for

Once you know what you want it for, you need to then decide what you actually need it for. If you went for a PC that could do everything imaginable at light speed you may find that it comes in with a very high price tag. Unless you have an unlimited budget it is best to cut out elements that you really don't need, perhaps by getting a gaming console to save you money on fancy graphics cards for example.

Go online

An important thing to remember is to never buy your PC from a super store. Always go online and search for something like Custom PC or Custom Built Computers to find a company who can custom build your PC for you so that it will be ideally suited to your wants and needs. This will definitely save you money and avoid you paying for components and software you really don't want or need.

Shop for advice

Before you finalise your order, go through every component that will be installed and do a quick search for it. Look through a few product reviews and be sure that you are happy that it will do the job you have been told it will. If everything is cool, go ahead and buy your new perfect PC!
