Landscape photography is a great field of photography, especially if you love nature and if you love to travel. You can travel the world taking pictures of beautiful scenes across many countries.

The earlier model did not contain the film; instead, it had a small light-shield box with lens and translucent screen on either side. The image that traveled through the lens was stored on the screen. Known as 'camera obscura,' it was no more than a sketching device for artists.

One hobby that will never go out of date is photography. It's simply because it captures moments that the human mind can't store vividly for long. It immortalizes scenes that are otherwise easily forgotten.

If one wishes to indulge himself in this kind of past time or even as a profession, it will be indispensable to acknowledge the help of not only the technical know-hows of photography but also the elements and accessories of the device that makes things happen -- the camera.

There three elements in a camera:

1. the optical elment or the lens

2. the chemical element or the film

3. the mechanical element or the body of the camera

It is the calibration of these elements that makes the recording of the images possible.

From the analog cameras, technology brought about its modern counterparts the digicams or digital cameras. With more advance features and a wide array of accessories, they make the hobby more accessible even to the most novice.

The difference between a digital camera and an analog one is that with the latter, the images are stored in digital format. With that format, the image can be previewed before it gets developed. Printing pictures from a digital camera is a lot more convenient too.

Outdoor and travel photography is focused on taking pictures of landscapes and natural places.

There are contests in almost every category you can think of; wildlife, underwater, boats, boat docks, people, children, self portraits, birds, tress, flowers, and much more. Some contests are not category-specific but leave you freedom to use your creativity.

Nature photography is the photography of animals, birds, fish and other wildlife. We will be discussing marine photography in a future article, because it involves specialist, expensive equipment and assorted diving skills.

Aside from the prizes, winning a contest may be your opportunity to showcase your photography skills in a national magazine. It’s easy to see why someone would want to enter a contest.

You don’t want to set your goals so high that you get let down but there is nothing wrong with going for what you want. Most importantly, get as involved with what you love as possible. Learn as much as you can about photography and what makes good photography. Subscribe to magazines, read books, look at winners of photography contests.

What are the current hot camera accessories? These include the following:

Electronic flashes

Flashes are for the vivid exposure of an image onto a film strip. Through the emission of a good amount of light with the release of the shutter, the film is exposed enough with the adequate amount of illumination. These accessories are particularly used for indoor photography or when one has to take pictures after dark.

Storage devices

Storage devices back were not able to be removed. Nowadays, digicams are endowed with flash memory devices, i.e., memory sticks, smartmedia cards, and compact flash cars.

Batteries

Digital cameras are now equipped with either rechargeable batteries or disposable ones. The non-rechargeable batteries include the lithium and alkaline types, while the rechargeable batteries are known to be in the form of lead-acid and NiCd batteries.

Other accessories include a camera bag or case, tripod, and straps.

It is not enough to know the accessories and elements of a camera. One must also learn how to use them properly and how to maintain them for their longest use for the enjoyment of this popular hobby known as photography.

There are different ways of finding photography jobs, depending on the type of job you are looking for and your experience. You can begin by creating a resume and portfolio of your work. Equipment is an important factor in taking great underwater photography. Of course you will need an underwater camera but there is more than just that.

Next to consider, are your technical aspects of your photograph. You are going to want to have excellent composition, lighting, focus, contrast, exposure, perspective and more. More on Malaysia Photographer.

This does not mean go out and shotgun blast everything you see. You still want to keep in mind the need to have a reason (theme) for taking a photography - think about how to focus attention on it, removing what distracts from your theme, and adding whatever attracts or highlights your theme, to make it a great photograph.

Compare the look of the photos from each photographer with one another. If you find two that seem to be of similar quality but with vastly different prices, then the decision is easy. Obviously the less costly photographer can do the same or similar work for less.
