This Money Making Article Will Be Vanishing Soon! Hurry!

Everybody is motivated by scarcity. Even when we know it's totally fake, it still gets us on a deep, subconscious level. That's why more and more payment processing sites aren't allowing sales pages that use their services to have those clocks ticking down. It creates an overwhelming buying desire and may lead people to have second thoughts after making a purchase. Even though they know it's fake, it still works.

So, yes, you should be using some kind of scarcity to sell your product. Just make sure of a couple points so you don't come across as an underhanded snake oil salesman.

One is to make sure the scarcity you present is actually true. Don't say the sale is ending in an hour if it really isn't. Don't say your prices are going up if they really aren't.

Also, make sure that your customers will have zero problems getting a refund. If you're selling an electronic product, make sure they can keep the product even if they get a refund.

Your reputation is vitally important, and all it takes is one rumor, true or false, that you are selling snake oil, and you're done. That's why you've got to be very careful when you use any of these incredibly powerful sales techniques that tap the subconscious mind.

That being said, there are several ways to present scarcity and increase your sales.

One is a price increase. You can do this if you are just starting out, or if you've got a new product. You won't really know what the ideal price is anyway until you know what the true demand is. So by starting the price low, and slowly increasing it as more and more people buy, you'll be creating price scarcity.

You can either advertise this, or let people figure this out on their own. Many people feel the need to shove scarcity down people's throats, but the truth is that it can be a lot more powerful if the general buying public figures it out on their own.

The other obvious form of scarcity is a limit in products. This is tough to do if you're selling a downloadable book. But you can use this as an incentive to keep upgrading your product. That way you can honestly say the current product will only be available for a limited time, as you'll be upgrading soon.

Another form of scarcity is of information, or in the form of a special discount not offered to the general public. If you've got a list, you can give them a discount, for a limited time, to your a new product. So long as there's another sales page where they can see your price to the non-list members as $99, you can sell it to your list for $69 or something. Let them know it's only for a week.

Another very powerful way to leverage scarcity in a way that doesn't seem logical is a scarcity of information. If you know something about a product that nobody else knows, and you share this information with a select group of people, they'll feel compelled to buy the product.

This works even if it's not your own product and you're only selling it as an affiliate. If you have inside dope on something, and share it with your list, they'll feel as if they are in some special, select group of people. They will feel a lot more compelled to act on this information.

Just make sure that any products you are promoting are worthy products that really help people. These are powerful sales techniques, and should not be abused.
