My HP Laptop Won't Charge The Battery

So I was wondering why my HP laptop wouldn't charge the battery and then I thought of a few reasons why this would be happening. First I checked to make sure the plug was fully plugged in the back of my computer. Once I saw that was correct, I went to the next reason which is, it wasn't plugged fully into the socket. I was actually stunned thinking my HP laptop won't charge the battery!

Anyways, I immediately checked the socket and saw there was no problem with it being fully plugged in so I moved to the next possibility. Maybe the reason was because I haven't properly attached the plug that goes from the laptop and plugs into that hub before going to the socket. That made sense to me because I would have just moved right past that option. I checked to make sure it was fully plugged in and there was something different. The cable was loose so I tightened it some more and then I looked back at my screen. The screen blinked a little but there was still something missing. I decided to then go to my settings and see if there was anything I could do there. I got totally lost on what to do when I went to my settings, so I thought of another idea.

I decided to turn the entire computer off...not a reset. I turned the entire computer off and then rebooted to see if the cable toggling would take effect. Voila! My screen was brighter and everything was back to normal. Make sure you always check your wires...sometimes that's the only problem. Make sure you check the wires and that they are securely planted in their respective sockets. Also, sometimes this might not be enough and therefore, I would advise you to check the actual sockets themselves. I know that sometimes in a multiple socket unit there can be surges that change the frequency or charge of a given socket and that will definitely not help your situation when trying to charge your laptop's battery.

You should thoroughly check the multiple switch unit and try switching the plug to however many sockets your unit holds. . It could be just a jump from one socket to another that happened abruptly and you simply weren't aware of the change. I would also recommend totally disconnecting the entire multiple plug unit and putting that into another socket. It could prove very helpful. Check the plugs on the unit to make sure they are all aligned and look sturdy and strong. Go around the edges of them with your eyes giving them a nice once over when you're looking at how they line up, then try another socket. I was personally very happy when I looked and saw my laptop was on.

It saves you a lot of stress when you know your laptop is charging and you don't have to look at that little timer that keeps letting you know that you are losing battery life. I totally dislike that and it's so annoying to see the light you were originally working with get dimmer and dimmer like it's really powering off. I was so glad that I have more than 1 charger for my laptop because it really came in handy when I was trying to get my battery charged that particular time. I could just relax because I didn't have to go through the stress of seeing what was wrong. A second battery can prove very handy.
