This 2012 we have experience the beginning of a new era for the Super Nintendo. SNES reproductions have brought us the nostalgic feeling of opening up again a new Super Nintendo game like back in the 90s. SNES reproduction carts have been with us since the beginning of the Super Nintendo Console, but we collectors had never turned our head towards it.

With the pass of a new year, there are new things being done for old and known ones. There has been sightings of new Super Nintendo Replacement Shells; these replacement shells help you restore an old copy of a game you have in your collection, apply a new SNES reproduction label, and have a minty looking game on your display. Besides the purpose of restoring old games, the SNES replacement shells will aid different projects like SNES business presentation cartridges, where a person gets a SNES cart done to give to his contacts instead of a business card. Super Nintendo music carts, where a musician or band develops 16 bit music to be playable on your Super Nintendo console. The SNES replacement shells will also help retro console developers turn their head towards the SNES development, and hopefully we can see more and more new games developed for out beloved old console.

Another niche product that is surfacing in the retro collecting market is the SNES reproduction boxes. These are cardboard boxes similar to the ones the SNES games use to be packaged with. These boxes sell just the box or with an instruction booklet for the game. This will help a lot of retro collectors get their games complete in box and complete their set sooner, without waiting years to find an original box and manual for a game for a very high price. Although the SNES reproduction boxes have been very controversial, since a few collectors believe they are ruining their hobby; the majority think it is an awesome way to complete their collection at an affordable cost.

Lastly, the beloved SNES dust covers, the plastic cartridge covers we used to get for free with a game, are currently being reproduced to sell individually. Some SNES reproduction companies give them for free with the purchase of a game. These dust covers help your cartridges stay in good shape and last longer.

Over all the Super Nintendo console is currently raising the retro community interest. There are several companies that provide these products and services, but the best of all is a company that has a RETRO QUEST to resurrect and bring back the Super Nintendo to life. They are also developing a new Super Nintendo game soon to be released in 2013.
