The Playstation 2 Is Still A Great Choice To Get A Gaming Console
Have you noticed that everybody keeps wanting the newest video games, this particularly goes for your children. The 1st video gaming system I actually had was the Atari 2600 and I even now have that model. Needless to say when I first received it, I would play that video game for hours on end. And now thinking about it, today we are always telling our children to get outside and get some fresh air instead of playing those games. Then of course after we tell them to go outside we will still end up getting them the new game anyway. However we are going to provide you with a few reasons why you should stick with or get the playstation 2.
The first thing you should realize is that the playstation 2 is much less expensive than the playstation 3. In fact if you order the playstation 2 through Amazon you can get the slim black design for only $99.99 and they also provide you with free shipping on this item. Should you purchase the playstation 3 you'll be paying $300. This isn't to say that there is anything wrong with the playstation 3, in fact it can even play your DVD's, however an extra $200 to me doesn't seem worth it.
Many of you may be thinking that they really don't even make games for the playstation 2 nowadays. And for those of you thinking that, you are wrong as they sill make games for the playstation 2, maybe not as many as they used to make but they are still being made. But the other thing about the games is that you can actually find ps2 games for less than $10 and all the games for the ps3 are selling for anywhere from $20 to $50. Which means for the same selling price of one ps3 game you can get about 5 ps2 video game titles.
You may find out that there are hundreds of games for the ps2, but because they are older your kids may have already played them. What this means is that they may actually get bored with playing the games and go outside for a little while. This is something that may or may not happen, but it is definitely worth a try if it can get your kids outside. If you look at it, if you were to be actively playing the very same game time and time again you will get bored. Of course in time they are going to want new games for that system, and you will only have to pay $10 to get a new game for them.
While these are just my own opinion, these are generally pretty good reasons to buy the ps2. I actually purchased a ps3 after they first came out but ended up selling it in a couple of weeks. And I was very happy just going back to my ps2. If you do decide to get this unit, you may be able to come across it in a number of of the malls but you will see that it will normally be cheaper if you order it from Amazon. Which means by simply getting it through Amazon you're going to be saving money.
